Specialist Door Solutions (SDS) worked collaboratively with the project team, including Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and Western Building Systems, to deliver a fully compliant and high-performance doorset package for the new facility.
One of the key challenges on the project was a delay in the construction programme. SDS supported the contractor by holding completed doors in storage until the site was ready, ensuring that installation could proceed smoothly without impacting overall timelines. This flexibility and proactive approach helped maintain programme efficiency and avoided unnecessary re-manufacture or logistical disruption.
Throughout the project, SDS provided specialist input to ensure the correct specification of doorsets aligned with the clinical requirements of diagnostic spaces, particularly where fire safety and durability were essential.

The selected finishes included Dfend Chalk door leaves paired with Cobble frames, creating a clean, modern aesthetic, consistent with the clinical environment while maintaining long-term resilience.

- All doorsets were fitted with satin stainless-steel ironmongery, ensuring durability, ease of cleaning and compliance with NHS stringent standards.
- A range of fire-rated configurations were supplied, including NFR, FD30S and FD60 doorsets, ensuring compliance with fire safety requirements across different areas of the facility.

Dfendoor was used across general clinical and circulation areas, providing durability, hygiene and impact resistance for high-traffic zones.
Shieldoor was specified where additional protection and radiation shielding was required, supporting specialist diagnostic environments.
