SDS supported the refurbishment and expansion of the A&E department at Luton and Dunstable University Hospital, a £35m project designed to meet growing patient demand and improve the overall patient experience.

The redevelopment at Luton and Dunstable University Hospital required tailored door solutions for one of the largest healthcare infrastructure schemes in the region. SDS supplied over 650 high-spec doorsets, helping the Trust deliver a safe, modern environment across maternity, neonatal, surgical and critical care areas.   

SDS played a key role in delivering high-end, design-driven doorsets for a luxury private healthcare facility at 169 Fulham Road, London. This project blended architectural vision and practical function, requiring a bespoke, aesthetically pleasing doorset package with specialist finishes. 

The brief was clear: create a welcoming, calming environment that meets the strict clinical demands of a modern surgical centre. Durability, hygiene, and aesthetics were paramount. SDS was engaged early in the project, providing specialist consultation and detailed door scheduling to ensure every product met the centre’s high standards. 

Specialist Door Solutions was commissioned to provide a range of doorsets for the new Urgent and Emergency Care Centre (UECC) at Scarborough Hospital - a significant milestone in healthcare infrastructure for the region. 

The St Lawrence Ward at Kent and Canterbury Hospital required fire-rated doorsets that also enhanced compartmentation through the use of specific contrasting colours. SDS was tasked with delivering a custom solution to meet multiple requirements while adhering to strict timelines.

Bradford Royal Infirmary undertook a significant refurbishment project for their Hand Unit, aiming to create a modern, functional, and welcoming space for patients and staff. SDS was proud to contribute to this project, supplying high-quality, durable, and hygienic doors to meet the hospital's specific requirements.

As a leading provider of fire safety door solutions for healthcare, SDS doorsets are recognised for their superior fire resistance and durability. In this particular project, we were selected to supply 156 doorsets to provide optimal protection for patients and staff.

Golden Thread Fire Delay was the chosen contractor for a pivotal upgrade at Harefield Hospital, installing SDS Dfendoor hospital doorsets, in the extensively refurbished Maple Ward, dedicated to adult patients requiring heart and lung critical care treatment. 

The Hull Royal Infirmary's Operating Theatres underwent a comprehensive renovation while still functioning as a live hospital. This refurbishment is part of a larger redevelopment project that aims to transform the hospital over the course of the next 15 years.

We take immense pride in our contribution to the successful completion of the Treatment Centre, specifically, the use of our Dfendoor doorsets, which have not only improved patient flow and wayfinding, but have helped to create a warm and welcoming environment for young patients and their families.

The refurbishment of this vital department centred on providing a modern, child-friendly environment. To accomplish this, SDS Dfendoor doorsets were specified.

Helping to transform Les Quennevais, a former school, into a temporary health facility. The successful conversion was achieved through the application of SDS's  solutions, Dfendoor and Lamdoor.

New Children's Emergency Department and Maternity Building with dedicated children’s facilities, reduced ante-natal admissions in facilities and service provision adhered to national screening programmes.
