The Lewisham Surgical Centre is a major investment in elective care, designed to deliver high-volume, low-complexity ear, nose and throat (ENT) procedures in a modern, purpose-built environment.    

 

About the project. 

Delivered as part of the national ProCure23 (P23) framework, the scheme enables faster access to surgery for patients while supporting the NHS in reducing waiting lists through increased capacity and efficient clinical pathways. 

SDS was appointed to manufacture and supply a complete package of specialist healthcare doorsets, providing compliant, durable and hygienic solutions for critical clinical areas including operating theatres and associated facilities. 

The project required a doorset solution capable of meeting the demands of a high-throughput surgical environment, including:

  • Enhanced durability for intensive daily use.

  • Radiation shielding for theatre areas.

  • Full compliance with fire and healthcare building standards. 

  • Infection-control led detailing.

  • A coordinated delivery programme aligned with a new-build healthcare scheme.

In addition, the solution needed to support efficient installation while maintaining the high quality expected within a modern surgical facility.

Project delivery.

SDS supplied 71 specialist healthcare doorsets, combining performance, compliance and aesthetic consistency across the facility. A collaborative approach between SDS, the client and project partners ensured a smooth process from specification through to completion.

The Lewisham Surgical Centre features a comprehensive SDS doorset package including:

  •  Dfend Lupin door leaves, complemented with Dfend Midnight frames.
