Fire rating overview.


Fire door performance is one of the most important aspects of any doorset. There is a legal requirement for manufacturers of fire doors to provide proof of the ability of their products to resist the passage of fire through the provision of test evidence. To this end, SDS are part of the BM Trada ’Q-Mark Fire Door Manufacture Scheme’, and have carried out multiple fire test under this scheme to ensure that our fire doors meet all legal requirements. We also have a commitment to carrying out ongoing fire tests in the future—not only to ensure ongoing compliance, but also to further expand the parameters of our fire certification portfolio.

About BM Trada.


BM Trada is widely accepted as a leading provider of third-party fire certification, and provides independent verification of our manufacturing quality and compliance, against the original specification of our fire test specimens. Under the BM Trada Q-Mark scheme, SDS are subject to independent and rigorous auditing by BM Trada, providing clients and specifiers alike, the peace of mind that SDS meets and exceeds the legal obligations of a fire door manufacturer.

SDS hospital fire doors.


All fire-rated doors are automatically fitted with the relevant intumescent seals for the specified fire performance. SDS offers the following fire doors in either FD30/s or FD60/s (for exact configurations and sizes available, please contact SDS):

  • Double Swing Doorsets
  • Traditional Frames
  • Split frames
  • Glazed Doorsets
  • Acoustic doorsets (up to 35dB)

Smoke control.


SDS can offer most fire door configurations with the appropriate seals to provide smoke resistance. As standard, all fire and/or smoke-rated doors are automatically fitted with the relevant smoke seals for the specified performance.
