Specialist Door Solutions (SDS) partnered with Kier Construction, Ryder Architecture and the wider project team to deliver specialist doorset solutions for the new £50 million Sunderland Specialist Eye Hospital. Designed to replace the Trust's ageing eye hospital, the new facility has been built to treat more patients while providing a modern, sustainable healthcare environment. Through collaborative working, technical expertise and dedicated project support, SDS helped deliver a coordinated doorset package that met the project's demanding performance, compliance and aesthetic requirements.

About the project.

The new Sunderland Specialist Eye Hospital has been developed to replace the existing 80-year-old hospital with a modern facility designed to meet future healthcare demands. Sustainability and collaboration were central to the project's vision, with project partners working together to create a specialist healthcare environment that supports patients, staff and visitors for years to come.

SDS played a key role in supplying and coordinating a comprehensive doorset package, working closely with the architect, contractor, joinery specialist and NHS Trust to ensure the final solution delivered long-term durability, compliance and design quality.
