Project overview.

Project: Refurbishment and upgradet at University Hospital of Wales's main theatres 3 & 4.

Customer: Cardiff & Vale University Health Board

SDS products used: Dfendoor, Shieldoor

About the project.

The Main Theatres 3 & 4 project at University Hospital of Wales required specialist doorsets capable of meeting the demanding requirements of an acute healthcare environment.

A key objective was to ensure that the ironmongery was suitable for the end client's needs, while maintaining performance characteristics and meeting all compliance requirements.

The project also presented a significant programme challenge, with only a limited window available to complete remedial works before the theatres were returned to service. This required SDS to work responsively and efficiently to support the project team and minimise disruption to the clinical environment.

The project required careful planning and execution, as construction was carried out within a live hospital environment, demanding minimal disruption to critical healthcare services.

What our clients have to say.

“The Healthcare Door Specialists were detailed in their design process and production of door schedules, ensuring the correct product arrived on site when required. The doors are high quality and robust—perfectly fit for the demanding healthcare environment of an Emergency Department. Their customer service was excellent when addressing any issues that arose."
