Common applications.

Assuredoor is best suited for low traffic areas, or areas with minimal impact traffic such as beds and trolleys, including:

Consultation rooms
Offices and admin areas
Laboratories
Storage and walk-in cupboards

For high-traffic areas, or areas where impact traffic such as beds and trolleys are commonly used, we would recommend the use of Dfendoor PVC post-formed doors for increased durability and robustness.

For other specialist healthcare requirements, SDS recommends Shieldoor (for areas where radiation shielding is a requirement) and Clariglide ranges (for patient observation, space saving or where hinged doors are impractical).

Assuredoor Double Swing Door Systems.

The ADSDA & ADUDA Door Systems are designed specifically for inward opening Ambulant WCs. These systems are designed to allow the door to swing outwards in the event of a patient falling or requiring assistance. An inward opening door would often restrict this from being possible, so the option to open the door outwards is extremely critical, as outlined in Building Regulations Approved Document M.

SDS Assuredoor doorsets are available with a huge range of finishes and colours to compliment any design scheme. The following door leaf finishes are available;

Laminates – we offer a choice of 35+ standard colours and woodgrain effect laminates, which have been carefully chosen to align with the SDS Dfendoor PVC post-formed range (see colour palette below), making it easy to achieve a consistent look across an entire hospital estate. Alternatively, any colour from the Formica® or Polyrey® ranges of laminates can be chosen.
Veneers – almost any type of natural timber veneer can be selected. Common veneer types include European or American White Oak, Walnut, Ash, Maple, Cherry, Beech etc. All veneers are crown cut as standard, and double leaf doors are supplied with book-matched veneers for aesthetic continuity.
Paint-Grade – doors are supplied with a white, smooth finish ready for final site decoration. This allows the doors to be painted in any colour to suit the chosen design scheme.

Assuredoor colour range - Laminate.

Assuredoor is available in any colour from the Formica® or Polyrey® laminate range. To support design consistency across projects, SDS has selected a standard palette of Formica® laminate colours below that align as closely as possible with the Dfendoor PVC colour range. Please note that, due to inherent differences in material composition and surface finish, variations in colour tone and light reflectance value (LRV) may occur between laminate and PVC.

What is the difference between Assuredoor and Dfendoor? Assuredoor is designed with a severe-duty core and available in laminate, veneer or paint-grade facings, best suited to low–impact traffic areas. Dfendoor, is also manufactured with a severe-duty core but is PVC post-formed, offering superior impact resistance for high-impact traffic as well as infection control properties ideal for clinical areas compared to laminate, veneer or paint-grade finishes.

Does Assuredoor meet fire safety standards? Yes – Assuredoor doorsets are supplied fully certified under the BM Trada Q-Mark Fire Door Manufacture scheme. Assuredoor doorsets are available in fire ratings up to FD60S (FD90 & D120 also available in some applications upon request).

Can colours be matched across ranges? Assuredoor is available in any colour from the Formica® or Polyrey® laminate ranges. ** All of our door cores are tested to meet a Severe Duty rating, ensuring exceptional durability and performance in busy environments. However, the finishes applied to the door faces play a key part in the door's overall durability and performance against impact. Assuredoor is intended for low-traffic areas due to the facing materials used. For high-traffic, or areas where beds and trolleys are used, we recommend the use of our Dfendoor post-formed doorsets.
